This December, Tarragona Cathedral celebrates Christmas with two organ concerts performed by Jordi Vergés, acclaimed organist and professor at the Professional Conservatory of Tarragona. The performances will take place on 19 and 20 December at 8 p.m., offering a musical journey inspired by Christmas tradition and spirit.
The programme features works by Charpentier, Clérambault, Bach and Daquin, along with adaptations of traditional carols that highlight the expressive richness and unique sound of the Cathedral’s organ.
With a distinguished career in major concert halls across Europe and the United States, Jordi Vergés has received numerous international awards and is regarded as one of Catalonia’s leading organists. His performances combine precision, warmth and an exceptional ability to engage with audiences.
Restored and renewed with a new mechanism in 2013, the Tarragona Cathedral organ is one of the great artistic and musical treasures of the temple. The Christmas concerts offer a unique opportunity to experience its full splendour in a festive and inspiring setting.
