Tarragona Cathedral now offers a new self-guided tour option with an audioguide via smartphone, allowing visitors to explore at their own pace one of the city’s most emblematic monuments. Built atop the former Roman temple of Augustus, the Cathedral is a key site for understanding the historical and architectural evolution of Tarragona, from antiquity to the medieval period.
The new audioguide system, available in Catalan, Spanish, English, and French and included in the ticket price, works via a web app accessed through visitors’ own smartphones by scanning a QR code at the start of the tour.
All points along the route are clearly marked with new panels, helping visitors to identify each space and understand its historical period. The new audioguide offers detailed explanations and images for each stop, highlighting the must-see areas and also includes short audiovisual clips.
